How Lunch Park turned campus meal plans into clear, prepaid subscriptions

Lunch Park packages breakfast, lunch, and dinner into prepaid meal-plan tiers. Each plan has a per-meal budget (the worth of a single plate), daily menu options, and longer commitments that unlock bigger discounts — all billed as recurring subscriptions on Subby.

Problem

Great food. Messy renewals.

Lunch Park already knew how students and busy professionals eat — they want a clear plate budget, a few daily options, and the freedom to subscribe for a day, a week, or a full month.

What they did not want was recalculating every order by hand. Base meal prices, meal-slot choices, and duration discounts lived in chats and spreadsheets. A five-day Campus Vibe lunch should not take a calculator to quote.

As more people asked for prepaid plans, Lunch Park needed subscriptions that mirrored how the kitchen actually prices food — by plan tier, by meal, and by how long someone commits.

Solution

Meal tiers with honest plate budgets — billed on Subby

Lunch Park launched four subscription tiers on Subby: Campus Vibe, Starter Pack, Growth Plan, and Boss Mode. Each tier sets a per-meal budget — the worth of a single plate the subscriber can expect — plus how many daily options they get.

Daily base pricing is set per meal slot. Campus Vibe starts at ₦2,000 breakfast / ₦3,000 lunch / ₦2,500 dinner; Starter Pack at ₦3,200 / ₦4,000 / ₦3,500; Growth Plan at ₦5,000 / ₦6,000 / ₦5,500; and Boss Mode opens at ₦10,000 for breakfast with a per-meal plate budget up to ₦15,000.

Commitment length unlocks savings on those base prices: 1 day has no discount, 5 days is 12% off, 7 days 15%, 20 days 18%, and 28 days 20%. Subscribers see the math up front; Subby collects and renews on the chosen cycle.

Kitchen and ops pull an active-subscriber view from Subby instead of chasing transfers. Failed payments retry automatically, and reminders keep longer plans from quietly dropping off mid-cycle.

How it works

From signup to settlement on Subby

  1. 1

    Subscriber picks a meal tier

Campus Vibe, Starter Pack, Growth Plan, or Boss Mode — each with a clear per-meal plate budget and daily menu options.

  2. 2

    They choose meals and duration

Breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner are priced from the tier’s daily base rates. Longer plans (5, 7, 20, or 28 days) apply the matching discount automatically.

  3. 3

    Subby runs the subscription

Payment, renewals, retries, and WhatsApp/SMS reminders are handled on Subby so Lunch Park is not chasing every cycle by hand.

  4. 4

    Kitchen plans from live subscribers

Active vs paused plans drive prep volume. Ops see who is paid up before packing the next day’s plates.

Results

Clear plates. Clear pricing. Recurring revenue.

Subscribers finally understand what they are buying: a plate budget, a set of daily options, and a duration discount that rewards longer commitment.

Lunch Park stopped quoting plans from memory. Base prices and percentage discounts are productized on Subby, so campus and premium tiers sell the same way every time.

Collections and renewals run in the background — the team spends more time on menus and delivery, and less time confirming who paid for tomorrow’s lunch.

“Once the plan tiers and discounts lived on Subby, selling a five-day or twenty-eight-day meal plan stopped being a spreadsheet exercise. Subscribers see the plate budget; we see paid cycles.”
